Tourism peak season explodes in Maun

Maun Airport recorded the country's highest number of aircraft landings and takeoffs between March and June this year as air charter service providers reported an explosive start to this year's tourism peak season.

Maun is known as the gateway to the Okavango Delta as well as the numerous tourist attractions in the northwest.

Tourism activities in Botswana reach their zenith between May and September, known as the peak season, as the dry and cooler conditions offer more visitor comfort and better opportunities to view game as animals congregate around the few available water sources.
