SADC postal operators given the go-ahead to run Exchange Bureaus

A quarterly meeting of the Southern Africa Postal Operators Association (SAPOA) Chief Executive Officers has been held in Pretoria, South Africa. Of immediate benefit to customers, is the fact that all public postal operators within the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) have now been given the go-ahead to run Exchange Bureaus.

This means that once the Post Office has finalised the legal formalities with the relevant reserve banks, customers will be able to walk into any post office and exchange money, as is now the case in Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This development is as a result of the heads of the Public Postal Companies from the 14 SADC countries meeting to discuss the status of ongoing regional projects on quality of service and money transfers.
