SACU meeting focuses on common negotiating mechanisms

Members of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) have been urged to work together to make the five-member body attractive to the rest of SADC.

At present, SACU is made up of Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa and Namibia.

"Being the oldest customs union, SACU is no doubt expected to play a leadership role in our SADC regional integration agenda," said the Minister of Trade and Industry, Neo Moroka, when he opened the one-day SACU seminar in Gaborone last Friday.
