Paste 2008 conference for Kasane

Debswana is hosting the Paste 2008 conference on behalf of the Botswana and the Australian Centres of Geomechanics (ACG) in Kasane, a press statement from the mining house has announced.

The ACG has mandated Debswana, South Africa's Cape Peninsula University and Paterson & Cooke to manage the event on its behalf. This will be the 11th such conference which has been hosted in Australia, Chile, Canada, Ireland and South Africa.

 
"Paste 08 is an international seminar with the objective to promoting the technology of paste and thickened tailings as a viable, mature and environmentally-friendly technological alternative solution to conventional mine residue disposal," the statement says.
