The new 82-roomed hotel positioned between the new CBD and Sir Seretse Khama International Airport has been completed while Phase 2 of the project is still in progress.

During a media tour on Friday, the general manager of Travelodge, Cecilia Ponde, said the hotel was well positioned to meet the customer's needs since it was close to the airport. "Since we are close to the CBD, we are in a good market place and we are also targeting the travellers visiting Gaborone," she said. "We have analysed market trends and identified areas that are a common source of discomfort to travellers. We have tailored the product to suit the different segments in the market. Business travellers will find the necessary facilities to carry out their work", said Ponde.

Travelodge, which is a consortium owned by local investors Tredinick and Trans Africa, currently has 20 permanent staff and 10 contractual employees. Ponde said more people would be employed when the whole project gets completed.
