Mining rebound leads to 11.3% growth

The country's economy registered 11.3 percent growth in the third quarter of last year as mining output jumped following recovery in diamond production, the Central Statistics Office has said.

According to a recent CSO report, the third quarter growth was considerably higher than the revised 4.3 percent growth in the second quarter.

Mining production jumped by an annualised 26 percent in the third quarter from 1 percent in the previous three months, while agriculture production also soared - jumping 28 percent - compared with 19 percent in the second quarter.
