Media should assist in marketing Botswana

The media should assist in marketing the country to make it competitive globally, Public Affairs Officer for Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) ,Sayi Dewah, said last Thursday.

Dewah told attendants at the beginning of a two-day business journalist's workshop in Gaborone, that the media should assist in making the country competitively positioned as an investment destination.

"BDC is a partner in the promotion of Botswana as a strong base for foreign and local investment and through our partnership with the media, we hope to achieve growth in areas such as industry, agriculture and property development," said Dewah. BDC, which is government's investment arm, hosted the workshop for the second year running alongside Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) and Southern Africa Institute for Entrepreneurship Development (SAIMED).
