Wilfred Mandlebe, presently Secretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, will leave the Botswana treasury at the end of July to join the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Tunis on secondment effective from August 1.
The respected civil servant in media circles joins the AfDB as an Advisor to the Executive Director for the Constituency Office comprising Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

He told Monitor Business last Friday that the secondment means that he could come back to work for Government again, even though it might not be for the Finance ministry, at the end of his three-year secondment term.
Mandlebe said his secondment, which his ministry's Permanent Secretary, Serwalo Tumelo, announced to other staff, did not come as a surprise to him because "I was involved in the secondment process."
Mandlebe said he does not foresee any serious difficulties in his redeployment, "save for the usual social adjustment''.
