KBL Named Best Brewer in Africa, Asia

The Botswana brewing giant, Kgalagadi Breweries (Pty) Ltd (KBL) has been crowned SAB-Miller Africa and Asia brewery of the year after beating nine others including, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Tanzania, Ghana, Uganda and India.

The award was presented to the KBL technical team in Sun City, South Africa, on 31 August 2007. According to KBL officials, the award is given to the brewery that displays high adherence to the Manufacturing Performance Index (MPI) scorecard.

The scorecard looks at product quality, reliability and management of variable costs such as packaging material usage, water management, electricity usage and people technology.
