India seeks to strengthen business ties with Botswana

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Botswana Export Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA), Lameck Nthekela, has attracted the attention of a visiting Indian business delegation to textiles and garments as well as to the establishment of a state-of-the-art tannery and leather manufacturing in Botswana.

Speaking at a seminar held at GICC on Monday, Nthekela said other investment opportunities in Botswana were in glass manufacturing and jewellery making.

The Indian delegation, which was headed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jyotiraditya Scindia, heard that incentives for investing in Botswana included a low corporate tax of 15 percent for manufacturing companies.
