HP seeks to partner e-government initiatives

World-leading information technology group, Hewlett Packard (HP), hopes to add its weight to the delivery of the ongoing Botswana e-government strategy, leveraging on its extensive global experience, Business Today has learnt.

The American information technology giant opened its inaugural office in Botswana yesterday, bringing its 72-year history and 170-country strong global presence to local shores. The company also opened an office in Angola last Friday and is due to establish in Mozambique yesterday (Thursday) as part of a fresh drive for growth markets.

For Botswana, in particular, HP's entry is timely as the National 2011-2016 E-Government Strategy gathers pace.
