Diamond body formed

After meeting on Tuesday in Antwerp, Belgium, the heads of the global jewellery and diamond industry’s four largest international representative bodies have agreed to establish a joint consultative committee to discuss and formulate coordinated strategies and policies on matters of common interest.

The objective of the so-called presidents Forum, whose members would comprise the presidents of the four industry bodies, would be to ‘Reflect the interests of all participants and stakeholders in the industry through discussion and coordination’. Its founding members were World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) president Gaetano Cavalieri, World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) president Ernest Blom, International Diamond Manufacturers Association president Maxim Shkadov and World Diamond Council (WDC) president Edward Asscher.
