CIC Energy wants local contractors for village development

Last week the company placed an advert in newspapers inviting companies in the fields of construction, material and service providers to register for the information session on the Residential Village Development for the Mmamabula Energy Project.
The session will be held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on February 4. Information from the company says "as part of the enabling infrastructure works to support the Mmamabula Energy Project, a residential village is to be constructed for housing personnel for the mine and power plant." Project sponsors CIC Energy and International Power plc want infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor to utilise home-grown Botswana entities in the development of the village. The project will comprise construction of roads, storm water drainage, water and sewer networks, electrical reticulation, waste water treatment works, landscaping and 1 079 dwelling units and commercial buildings.
