CA to decide on sale of KFC

The Competition Authority (CA) has less than a month to decide on the proposed sale of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) franchise in Botswana to a South African firm, Callus (Pty) Ltd.

The transaction concerns the proposed acquisition of KFC restaurants in Botswana, owned by VPB Propco, together with all its assets related to operation of KFC franchise stores, by Callus.

At a public hearing on Monday, the authority indicated it would make a decision on the transaction in less than 30 days.
