Brewers power Sechaba half-year results

Sechaba Limited has reported impressive half-year results powered by positive volume growth in its brewing subsidiaries. The company's half-year results for the period ended 30 September shows that profit after tax went up by 14.2 percent to P63.3 million.

Operating profit grew by 15.8 percent to P81.1 million. Sechaba owns Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) and Botswana Breweries Limited.

KBL has recorded an annual growth of 22 percent in attributable profits as a result of good performance in beer and soft drinks volumes, which grew by 4.7 percent and 16.3 percent respectively. The KBL results come on the back of reported beer shortages, leading to importation of some brands that are produced locally.
