BR advertises CEO post as Lunga's term nears end

FRANCISTOWN: The Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Railways (BR) Andrew Lunga will not seek to renew his contract when it expires in April next year, the parastatal's Public Relations Manager Alina Masenya has confirmed.

An advertisement for Lunga's post is currently running in the media.
"It's true he will not renew his contact when it expires. The post is being advertised so that the one who will take over may start while Lunga is still here," Masenya told Mmegi.
"There is a lot currently going on here," she added, referring to BR's re-branding and turnaround strategy. "The plan is to have the new CEO take over before Lunga leaves."

In related developments, Masenya said BR is still waiting for funding to introduce a revamped day passenger train.
