BotswanaPost has been applauded for efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with postal activities

BotswanaPost has been ranked among the top 10 best performing postal operators in issues of carbon emission analysis by the recently released Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) Online Solution for Carbon Analysis and Reporting (OSCAR) 2015 report.

Launched in June 2016, OSCAR analyses greenhouse gas emissions associated with postal activities making special emphasis on products that include both domestic and international mail, parcels and Express Mail Service.

This is not limited to mail and parcels as sources such as transport, buildings and waste resulting from postal activities are also assessed.
