Botswana meets only 6% of milk demand

FRANCISTOWN: According to the Agriculture Hub, Botswana makes only three million of the 63 million litres of milk demanded by the marker and imports the remaining 60 million litres.

This was disclosed at the recently ended Francistown Investment Forum (FIF2014) held in Francistown by Baitshepi Bathusi-Hill of the Agriculture Hub.

Speaking on ‘Models & Strategies of Investing in Agriculture within the greater Francistown: Possibilities of contract farming by private sector with the local community for technical and market support’, Bathusi-Hill noted that only six percent of the national demand is met.
