Botswana growth prospects slashed

The World Bank forecast the Botswana economy to grow by 4.1 percent, 0.9 percentage points lower than projections published at the beginning of the year.

The latest bi-annual Global Economic Prospects (DEP) published this week, shows that the economy will grow at a lower rate this year before it further declines to 4 percent in 2015. In January, the World Bank had forecast the economy to grow by five percent.

World Bank projections are slightly lower than government forecasts.
