Big Counters Pull Down Bourse

Large capitalised counters pulled down the mainstream index further into the red on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) last week as investors' sentiment continue to dampen in light on the gloomy economic outlook.

In a week characterised by thin volumes, only 563,998 shares were traded yielding a turnover of P6,500,722 with the DCI closing the week 1.35 percent down at 6,671.23 points while the FCI remained relatively flat at 1,168.52 points.

Even the forthcoming release of companies' results in the next two weeks failed to lift the counters. This is because the results are not expected to be that good.
