BEMA�s advocacy for manufacturers bears fruit

BEMA had written a letter to the council’s city clerk querying the requirements of a tender for the supply and delivery of cold asphalt premix.
The association insisted that the council revises its tender requirements so as to include local manufacturers that are covered by the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) directive. The tender had originally not included the manufacturer’s code thereby closing them out.
While it is widely acknowledged that Khama holds the title of Kgosi, the government’s failure to properly gazette his recognition has raised serious concerns about adherence to legal procedures and the credibility of traditional leadership.
