Birds of a feather

I was taken aback by the reported noises by President Khama, reminding BOFEPUSU that he is a soldier and was in combat readiness...Who doesn't know the president's penchant for combat?

 He is always spoiling for a fight whether it be BOFEPUSU demanding a 16% salary adjustment or DK and party young Turks demanding constitutional rights in their party or Dumelang Saleshando trying to assert his right as leader of the opposition in Parliament on a campaign to teach Batswana what the duties of the opposition are.

Khama the soldier, is always there to fight like a tiger either through proxies or in person, and  catch his contented  grin as he watches attackers fall and run helter-skelter for cover! Apparently as the BDF commander, he did not engage in as many battles as he would have loved to and in the circumstances has never known what it is like to lose a battle never mind a war; now that that phase of his career to defend democracy from barracks has lapsed, he must revel in combative prowess by wily democratic tactics, not as the commander of the armed forces but as the CEO of a pseudo-democratic regime, in Botswana, by wagging a finger like PW Botha of the defunct apartheid RSA, roaring like a jungle lion and whistling, 'I am the monarch of all I survey...!'
