The invitation extended to The Monitor sold Welcome to Botswana as a "Broadway hit stage theatre," which, as a phrase, is as inscrutable as the play it described.

Welcome To Botswana, which showed last year at the Maitisong Festival, had a preview show Friday night ahead of its showing at this year's festival.

The show, written and directed by Edward Moroka, has been described as an explosion of songs and dance and, in a telephone interview with Showtime after the show, the director described it as a piece of educational, motivational and entertaining theatre.
