The rise and rise of Mokgeledi the painter

In 2004 Chris Mokgeledi was a frustrated, out of work young man who decided to take to painting to start life again.

He was found under a tree practicing painting at  Phase II by the Thapong Visual Arts Centre coordinator Reginald Bakwena by chance when he was driving by.  Since that meeting with the Thapong coordinator, Mokgeledi's life as a painter transformed from a chancer to a prolific artist who has already now been to USA on painting missions as well as benefiting from networking and workshops at Thapong.

Today perhaps sums up Mokgeledi's rise as an artist of note.  His 20 or so  art pieces, inspired by years of work shopping and networking with the best, opened on Friday at  Debswana Healing Art gallery, located inside the Debswana House at the Main Mall.
