SA gospel heavyweights tour Botswana

Botswana's gospel lovers are in for a treat with South Africa's gospel heavyweights set for a live concert in Gaborone as part of Benjamin Dube's latest album launch.

The veteran gospel muso is on a southern Africa tour including Swaziland, Lesotho and Botswana, promoting his cutting-edge album Healing In His Presence.Dube, known for his affection for Botswana, brings along popular musicians who feature in the album. The last time he was in the country was in November 2011.Revered Jazz diva, Judith Sephuma, the voice behind the smash hit, Oh Give Thanks, in Dube's album, will also perform at the Limkokwing University Hall on September 8.

Sephuma, known for her Jazz tunes, comes along with Margaret Motsage, former Joyous Celebration diva Zanela "Zaza" Mokheti, Neyi Zimu, Nhlanhla Mdluli, Grace Dube and Dube's three sons.Zaza of the Spirit of Praise fame featured in the song Phakama and many will remember her for stints with renowned gospel artists like Rebecca Malope, Dick Khoza, Vicky Vilikazi, Solly Mahlangu (Obrigado) and Keke. Zaza also performed with the successful gospel choir "Joyous Celebration 12", performing the smash hit Namhla Nkosi, which took South African gospel by storm.Fans will also witness Dube's sons belt out the song Why?.Local promoter, Nico Matlapeng, who recently returned from Johannesburg, South Africa, said the whole team was looking forward to the tour.The tour has already started in South Africa where Dube is staging concerts in all provinces before touring Lesotho and Swaziland.
