Local company records Zambian musician

The last three years have seen Zambian musicians make inroads into the Botswana market with prominent performers from our northern neighbours like General Ozzy even securing bookings for live performances here.

Local artists have been inspired and a quite a few have tried their hand at the new sound, including jailed Borankana star Ditiro Leero whose last album Hot Plate is currently doing well in the market.Now a local production company EN'Hotties has signed one of Zambia's promising young talents, Emanuel Hakanzaba who goes by the stage name Shata Man.  With first single already out, the Zambian musician is due to release his debut full album (Love to be Loved) before winter this year.  Although, he is a relatively unknown, Shata Man has acquired some valuable studio experience while working with reputable Zambian producers Crazy D and DJ Smilly and his management team is convinced he would turn into a big star.

"He was recommended by a his friend to us who is also an artist under our management.  We were amazed by the amount of talent that he posses before we could even meet him.  His friend brought us the demo and when we finally met him it was easy to make a decision," his manager Kitso Kgengwenyane said.Kgengwenyane because of potential shown by Shata Man his company, through their agents, has already stared marketing him in countries like South Africa and Zambia even before his debut album is released.Shata Man himself believes the Botswana market offers him a good opportunity to kickstart his career.
