Kearoma to peform in Mozambique

Local singing sensation, Kearoma Rantao, is on a mission to spread her music across Southern Africa. The jazz singer left the country last Sunday and is currently in Maputo, Mozambique where she will stage some performances.

Speaking to Showbiz in a telephone interview, Kearoma sounded excited and said she has spent most of her time in Maputo so far seeing what the city has to offer. Of particular interest to Kearoma in the short time she has spent in Maputo, are the noticable differences between Botswana and Mozambique cultures. She said so far, she has been to the industrial town Matola just a few kilometres away from Maputo and also went on a tour of Mozal aluminium plant. As far as promoting herself in the exotic African city, Kearoma said that she has interviews lined up with some media houses in Maputo. She already has an interview confirmed for Sunday morning with Mozambique Television and others that are yet to be confirmed with the local radio stations.

Kearoma is scheduled to perform at two different venues this weekend; the highly regarded Ambient Jazz Club has also seen the likes of Jimmy Dludlu and Judith Sephuma. She will also perform at Gil Vincente, that is a major tourist attraction for entertainment.She further explained that she will perform with a Mozambican band; the singer said when she gave the band her music, they were excited about the songs. She said: "I really can't wait to see how our rehearsal sessions will go and how the performance will eventually go."
