MAUN: Shumba Ratshega is coming back home after his stint in South Africa, the traditional music maestro revealed to Showbiz in an interview.

He said after his short stay in Mzansi he has taken a decision to come home though he may want to return to the neighbouring country after some time. Ratshega was speaking after mesmerising traditional music lovers who thronged the Fresh Exclusive Night Club Sunday Beach Volleyball tournament on Sunday night.

He said after being busy for the last years in which he performed in countries like Mozambique and Tanzania he has taken a decision to briefly rewind while finalising his upcoming album to be released in August 2013. The album, which will be titled Chimonyana Tshiyapo, has eight tracks and will be recorded at Cool Spot studios in Johannesburg. He revealed that the album will still have the same style that made him a household name as Bullet Ketshabile played the keyboards and arranged the songs for the album. The album is a sequel to his 2011 offering, Sandanda. The Makhirikhiri famed Muso revealed that he is due to play in Los Angeles in the United States of America (US) in July this year.  Asked about his views on the local music industry, he remarked that the industry is still facing the same challenges of the liquor regulations and the piracy issue.  He opined that the traditional music category is well appreciated in South Africa like it is the case in Botswana.
