Gospel lovers to taste Sound of Life

Local gospel music lovers will get a taste of Franklyn Moyo's fourth album, The Sound Of Life when he launches it in Gaborone this weekend.

Moyo sets his new offing in motion on Saturday night at Trinity Hall, Gaborone Main Mall.  The 14-track album is already on the sale and a DVD will be shot on Saturday.  "I just gave it to the album looking at the content; it's more on the hymn side. I've rearranged hymns and given them my own flair," Moyo told Showbiz.  Some of the tracks in the album are There Is A Place Of Quiet Rest, Tswalo Se Teng, Morekolodi Wame, The Living Waters Medley and There Is A River.  "This CD is inviting people to look to God for life," he said.  About the track There Is A Place Of Quiet Rest, he explained: "We live in a time when we are surrounded by a lot of problems and only God has the solution."His previous albums are Spirit Filled, No Abiding City Here and Hymns Of Hope.

Moyo has recently been marketing all of them after overlooking that aspect when he released them.  "The first album did not get much exposure, I started pushing all three two months ago and I am getting some great response. I am now doing music full-time and realise if I had pushed them back then, they could have done much better in the market," he said.  He features budding gospel group He Reigns in some of his new songs. He Reigns were involved in the recording of Father Here I Stand and The Blessing.  The group will also be at the launch together with local ensemble, The Crossroads.Accapella group All The Way and Nancy Bogale will also perform at the launch.Moyo said the launch would also be used to film a DVD.  "There are some songs that are not on the CD, which will be on the DVD.  People should come in their numbers, they will not be disappointed," he said.
