Culture Spears hint at collaboration with Anju

FRANCISTOWN: When little-known musicians collaborate on a production, the motive is usually to strengthen each other on an unknown expedition in music circles.

When an upcoming musician combines with an established counterpart, the former seeks to ride on the latter's crest of fame and obviously gain popularity to be among the top artists.  But, when two music grandmasters in a similar genre like the much revered Culture Spears under the leadership of Kabelo Mogwe and Tapane Lukase popularly known as Anju collaborate, the aim is nothing less than to unleash a runaway success.

This scenario could be in the pipelines after the founders of the most revered and internationally acclaimed traditional dance troupe, Culture Spears hinted that they might collaborate with Anju. The 44-year-old Anju of Malatswai village - some 120km west of Serowe in the central administrative district - is a renowned traditional folk artist and has made tremendous strides in the development of folklore music in the country.
