Cafe manager accuses govt of destroying livelihoods

Satchmos Jazz Cafe manager Joseph Masisi has decried government's introduction of tough liquor regulations and its unchanged stance, saying various industry stakeholders have been crippled.

Speaking to Showbiz in an interview in Gaborone yesterday, Masisi, who operates from Gaborone West, said that ever since the introduction of the regulations he has been forced to address complaints from irate workers.

"Life is tough for my workers because they can barely survive on the meagre earnings they are currently getting.Everyday, I am bombarded with complaints from workers who say that they can't support their families," he said adding that many of them are the sole breadwinners.
