Bakgatla heritage festivities cross to Moruleng

Bakgatla baa Kgafela heritage festivities, which started at the beginning of this month, are now scheduled to cross over to Moruleng in South Africa on Monday.

Moruleng is the place where the tribe originated before settling in Mochudi and the two "capitals" still keep close links as Kgosi Kgafela continues to enjoy a reign over members of the tribe on both sides of the border.  The festivities, which include cultural music, exhibition of the tribe's art works and football matches, will coincide with South Africa's celebration of the Bakgatla chapter of the African Renaissance.

According to the organiser of the festivities, Oaitse Lekoko, Bakgatla ba Moruleng who crossed the border to participate in the Mophato last month and graduated, as Matlotlakgosi would be accompanied by their Botswana counterparts back home during the same period.
