Bahurutshe ba ga Manyana cultural day on the cards

Bahurutshe- ba- ga- Manyana tribe will on the August 24 hold a cultural day at their main kgotla to celebrate and remember their cultural roots.

Manyana is small village rich with culture situated just seven kilometres from Mmankgodi and 30 minutes drive from Gaborone. It also has many Historical sites that one will be sure to learn a lot about during the cultural day.

Earlier on Saturday Showtime traveled to the small village in search of the activities of the day, after receiving information to the effect that the cultural day was actually scheduled for this past Saturday. Speaking in an interview with Showtime, Chief for Manyana Village, Motshweneng Mosielele said the cultural event has been long scheduled for the August 24 and not the 4th  contrary to the information that circulating. He further said he did not know where the confusion came from as normally for such big events members of the tribe are briefed on the matter. When shedding light on the big day, Mosielele said the event would go on as scheduled and said they are expecting a number of other tribes around the country to join them for the cultural event. "We are expecting a number of people on the day as we have invited other tribes, but most importantly residents of Mmankgodi as they are near us and we have relations" he said. Anyone interested in attending the event will be sure to learn about the Bahurutshe culture especially their origin and how they came to settle in the hilly place that is  Manyana. The chief says there will be music, food and dance as well as traditional attire to celebrate the culture Day.
