However,  in the midst of the tumblings and the lull that characterised the year, there remained few things to cheer about.

They continue to do so much more for themselves as a group, investing in property and diversifying their portfolios in amazing fashion. They own a recording studio, sound system for hire, video hire, and recently released their Mpacanga album, Ekentolo, which is creating waves on the local music scene.
Culture Spears were deservedly awarded the Presidential Award of Merit for their contribution to cultural music. They have been releasing one hit after the other, and their current album, Khudu, earned them P60, 000 from ring tones in just three months to become the fastest selling ring tone in Botswana. They should have easily been crowned the Best Group at this year's BOMU awards. Their title track, Khudu went on to win the Song of the Year award.
