Splash rolls into town - at last

There was talk around town last year that South African disco giants Splash would no longer be allowed to play in Botswana. The group's ace producer and lead singer Dan Tshanda confirmed receiving calls from worried fans who wanted him to verify the information.

The people who normally attend the group's shows, even those who never buy their music, were left panic stricken as it had become traditional that they would see their star live twice a year.

The stories were that a decision to ban the band was taken, but it was unclear who took the decision on the basis of unruly behaviour, which often resulted in serious injuries and even in death.
