Miss Botswana 2007/8 A Flop

Scores of people, who were looking forward to the crowning of a new Miss Botswana, were last Friday frustrated, when the pageant, which, was held in a garden at Gaborone Sun, was disrupted by rain.

There had been earlier signs that the pageant was going to be a disappointment when preparations were delayed by the rain that had fallen earlier. The organisers and Gaborone Sun staff had to run around replacing the soaked chairs and table coverings.

When the do started, some of the revelers were left standing for hours because all seats were taken. However, after the initial hurdles, Barwa Kgodumo, a traditional dance troupe somehow managed to redeem the situation with their performance. Barwa Kgodumo were followed by Kabelo Kgwarapi of Re bina mmogo fame who performed laidback music.
