Hundreds turn out for Phikwe beerfest

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Hundreds of fans thronged the Selebi-Phikwe Stadium for this year's edition of the Beerfest, an annual entertainment event, whose proceeds benefit the disadvantaged members of the community.

Four local DJs set the pace and had everyone on their feet as they danced the night away. DJ Double H, DJ Trax, DJ Onks and DJ Mos churned out hot tracks from the turntables on a warm Saturday night.

It was a departure from the norm where some artists were roped in to perform. Beerfest convener Mothusi Taolo said the event was a resounding success partly because it was held at a more spacious venue. "People were impressed with the set up. There was enough space at the stadium," Taolo said. Traditionally, the event has been held at Area II. Those who were at the event were given a golf shirt, mug, beer and braai packet.
