BDF Bands Shine At Charity Concert

MOGODITSHANE: The Botswana Defence Force (BDF) annual concert once more lived up to expectation on Friday and left revellers yearning for more at the Sir Seretse Khama Barracks (SSKB) camp.

Though the event may not have been that exciting there was nothing much to complain about. The well-organised event attracted hundreds of revellers to the SSKB world class auditorium, where 13 bands dished out entertainment.

The soldiers displayed some refined skills in different music and dance styles. Although it was private Oitsile Mokopanelo, who kept the audience on their feet because of his super hyper character, the stars of the night were the duo of Major Phillip Modise and private Kabelo Kgosimore. Major Modise, who was conducting the No 2 and No 3 bands, thrilled the audience with his funky moves. Modise would lazily make turns while playing his guitar, smile and make funny faces, thereby sending revellers into a frenzy. The naughty looking Modise would suddenly smile widely in a funny manner as he points to his choir. It must have been Modise's small frame that probably made people laugh their lungs out as he could move it anyway he wanted. On the other side, private Kgosimore did what is commonly woman's genre - ululating.
