Americans Enjoy Botswana Culture

The visiting delegation of Native American artistes and artisans experienced 'a night of Botswana culture' at the National Museum and Art Gallery in Gaborone last week. The Native Americans are touring Southern Africa, an initiative by W. K Kellogg Foundation.

They tasted traditional dishes and saw an art exhibition by Batswana painters, sculptors and basket weavers. The cultural event started with a brief viewing of art-works, most of which were 'Artists in Botswana Exhibition' entries.

The exhibition ran from March to April, showcasing paintings, drawings, photography and sculptures. The delegation was also shown traditional baskets.
