Exquisite Nhabe and Okavango baskets invade Thapong

Nhabe Museum from Maun has invaded Thapong Visual Arts Centre in Gaborone with an amazing display of basketry.

This initiative happened after members from the centre visited Maun and one Thapong member, Ivy Radipodi was impressed with the works of the craftspeople, mostly women, in the tourist capital of Botswana and its environs.

"It was so amazing to look at the women weaving those exquisite baskets and most of them were not even aware that they had talent because they said that they weaved to pass time," Radipodi who also happened to be the curator of the exhibition told Arts & Culture in an interview.
