Peace eludes BDP in Francistown

FRANCISTOWN: Although the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) continues to claim prevalence of peace in the volatile Francistown region, its inability to hold the regional congress and elections is proving a problem.

The party chairman, Daniel Kwelagobe, recently took a unilateral decision to stop the regional congress and elections billed for Matsiloje on November 6 without informing the regional leadership about the reasons for his action.

Even up to today, Francistown region chairperson, Botho Ntirang, is in the dark as to why the party secretariat had to halt the congress and elections "without informing us".
