Of the 10 things that I really care about for Zimbabwe, a new respected and democratic constitution is the first eight.

I just came across the Patriotic Front Election Manifesto for the 1980 plebiscite that ushered in Zimbabwe's independence.

I was struck by the manifesto's relevance, or irrelevance, to today's situation, 28 years on.
