On the surface, one could dismiss the annual countrywide jamboree of youth activities during the month of March countrywide as a meaningless waste of time and resources.

It has been 13 years now since the Month of Youth Against AIDS was designated - and observed - by the government in response to the alarming rate at which the HIV/AIDS epidemic was spreading among the youth.

As our story in this edition shows, today the situation has drastically changed for the better among our youth between the ages of 10 and 29 for whom the HIV prevalence rate is dropping.
