Premier League side, Notwane have said they are still waiting for a response from the Botswana Football Association (BFA) regarding the issue of coach, Gilbert Mushangazike.

The BFA rejected Notwane’s efforts to hire the Zimbabwean mentor, as he does not hold a CAF A Licence.

With the team living dangerously on the edge at the bottom of the BTC Premiership standings, club spokesperson, Mogomotsi Orapeleng said they are still waiting for the response regarding their coach.

He said they also want to hear from the association, regarding the deduction of six points from the team before the start of the season.

Notwane were docked six points after they failed to comply with the Club Licensing requirements.  They are currently sitting at the bottom of the league table with minus six points from three games. Following a 2-0 defeat at the hands of new comers, Morupule Wanderers on Wednesday, Notwane remain the only side in the league, which is yet to register a point since the campaign started.

They lost 1-0 and 2-0 to Security

Systems and Police XI respectively.

However, Orapeleng said there is no reason to panic and are keeping their heads high despite all the challenges.

“So many factors might have contributed to a bad start. New players and change of coaches but slowly in terms of play we are getting there. It is a matter of time before we start converting,” he said.

On Wednesday, Notwane lost to a side that is under the tutelage of their former coach, Dragojlo Stanojlović. Stanojlović left Notwane a few days before the start of the season to join rookies, Morupule Wanderers.

Last week they roped in Oupa Kowa, who holds a CAF B Licence, as an assistant coach while they wait for the issue of the head coach to be resolved. This weekend Notwane take on title favourites, Jwaneng Galaxy, who also dropped points in the last two fixtures.
