Athletics team's trip to Ivory Coast uncertain

Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) is uncertain about sending a full team to the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) African Under-18 and Under-20 Athletics Championships to be held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in April.

BAA secretary general, Raymond Phale told Mmegi Sport that they have submitted a preliminary entry but that does not guarantee that the team would be going.

“For the team to travel to Abidjan, it would be determined by the availability of funds. Every time, our funds are released between May and June. So the way things stand, we can only send a team that would be covered under the quota, meaning we might send a small number,” Phale said.
