Kgaboetsile Wins Big At BNSC Awards Ceremony

Umpire Emmanuel Kgaboetsile of Botswana Badminton Association was the biggest winner at the annual Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) awards held at the Ba-Isago University conference Hall on Saturday night after he surprisingly walked away with the sportsperson of year and the umpire of the year awards.

Athletes have in the past dominated the coveted award. 

Kgaboetsile scooped the award and took home the trophy and a whooping P100, 000 beating the likes of Isaac Makwala of athletics and Ofentse Bakwadi of Karate to the ultimate prize. Both Makwala and Bakwadi were tipped to go head to head for the award after their successful year.
