Pio was confirmed as the new Notwane coach this week.

He was served with suspension by Sharps following a 2-0 defeat to Township Rollers last month with the issue of a contract and results as some of the reasons. According to Sharps president, Isaac Chilisa, the two decided to part ways about three weeks ago since they both agreed they could not work together anymore.

“He had not signed the contract and the new laws (Club Licensing requirements) are binding when it comes to contracts. And contracts are very complex and contain different terms and conditions, so chances are that at times people would not agree to certain things in the contract,” he said. Chilisa added that despite the contractual disagreements, there was also an issue of performance, which was instrumental in the two parties going separate ways. He said they felt results were not forthcoming hence Paul’s suspension and subsequent dismissal.

At the time of Paul’s suspension, Sharps had played five games in the league. They kicked-off their maiden Premier League season with a 0-0 draw against

Extension Gunners before a 1-1 stalemate against BDF XI. They lost 1-0 away to Sankoyo Bush Bucks, but held Gaborone United to a 1-1 draw. The next game they faced Rollers and lost 2-0 in a game that later saw Rollers’ coach, Nikola Kavazovic and striker, Joel Mogorosi being slapped with charges of misconduct. The two were charged for their post-match remarks in which they accused Sharps of deliberately coming to the game to injure their opponents. Mogorosi sustained a fracture on his leg in the process. After the Rollers game, Sharps registered their first win against TAFIC away in Francistown while Paul and his assistant at the time, Davis Kopi were serving suspensions.

They later roped in Tsatsilebe on interim basis and has since registered one victory, two losses and one draw. He has now been confirmed as the new coach on full time basis.  He is currently being assisted by Blue Same, who also doubles as the goalkeeper coach.  Paul has since joined Notwane who last week fired coach, Israel Molao.
