Kgosi Modise advocates for health officers accommodation

Kgosi Galeakanye Modise of Tswapong region is worried that seven port health officers posted at Martin Drift border gate reside 30 km from their working place because of lack of accommodation.

On Monday, Modise wanted to know if the Minister of Health and Wellness was aware of the issue and what they were doing about it. Kgosi Modise asked; “what does your ministry intends to do in order to assist the officers because there is no public transport between Lerala and Martins Drift border post?” “My ministry is aware that there is neither institutional housing nor accommodation in Martins Drift.

My wishes are to inform the house that accommodation of employees and transport were requested under NDP 11. Unfortunately, the request could not be accommodated owing to ceiling constraints,” assistant Minister, Phillip Makgalemele responded.
