Rollers withdraw case from CAS

This follows a meeting with new Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, Maclean Letshwiti. “The withdrawal was premised on, among others: the fact that Rollers have been crowned champions following their recent play-off match against Mochudi Centre Chiefs; the undertaking by the BFA that they will engage with FIFA to establish the status of Ofentse Nato at the time he was declared a defaulter by the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC),” BFA chief executive officer, Kitso Kemoeng said in a media statement yesterday.
He said the withdrawal of the case from CAS should not be construed to mean a concession on the part of Rollers that Nato was indeed a defaulter. “The meeting of Township Rollers by the new BFA president is part of his efforts to restore peace and stability to Botswana football that has been experiencing unprecedented turbulence in the recent past,” added the statement.
