Ramotswa Lutheran church vows to fight for pastor

Peace continues to elude the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Botswana (ELCB) and the latest episode indicates that insults and bloodshed could soon replace verses in the conflict that has been ongoing for half a decade.

The root cause of the dispute is the sacking of Pastor Thabiso Segatlhe who has been with the Ramotswa congregation since 2007. According to a group of Ramotswa church council members Kealeboga Sekisang, Goodwill Tlhaselo, Joyce Sangate, Victor Tlhaselo and church elder Linky Makabe, the ELCB Council seems to be enjoying the presence of a dispute between the parties.

The group argues that the sacking, which started in 2010, but has never materialised, was not done procedurally because they were never consulted as required by the law.
